Discussion Session
Tuesday, April 13th 6:00-7:00 pm Join us to watch an informative video about why to talk with children about race. The video will be followed by an open discussion on how to start or continue the conversation with our own kids, what gets hard about it and next steps. The Zoom link will be emailed or messaged by the admin and your teachers. Add the event to your Google Calendar: calendar.google.com/event?action=TEMPLATE&tmeid=amM4ZmVzMDc5bjFpcmh0ZTNlZ2oydmlwYTAgY29nNzMzcmZxZG9tYWw5dTRvMW5idXRmNnNAZw&tmsrc=cog733rfqdomal9u4o1nbutf6s%40group.calendar.google.com Let's get ready to dance to your favorite tunes and hang out with school friends! The Snowflake Dance will be held on Zoom, meeting link to follow in a later newsletter. There will be separate Zoom links for the dance floor, chit-chat, crafts and games, so kids can hop around depending on their preferences. Parent volunteers are needed to help monitor; email medfieldheightspto@gmail.com if you're interested in helping out!
The second meeting of our school-wide Antiracist Schools Project initiative will be held virtually this coming Tuesday, 2/23 @ 6pm. Medfield is one of the most diverse schools in the district but like all schools we could do more to be aware and actively committed to being anti-racist. We also know that when we can act as a school community that deeply knows that Black lives matter, everyone grows in their knowledge and humanity. If you are a parent and want to think and plan together about how we do this work, please join us on Tuesday, or let us know days/times that would work better for you if this one doesn't. Look out for an email from the school with the meeting Zoom link in the next few days.
School administration and staff need some additional help once the school building re-opens in March. If you think you might be able to help out during health screenings in the mornings, during lunch, or by staffing the "Wellness" room during the school day, please fill out the survey linked below. There is also the possibility of temporary paid work, 8-24 hours/week @ $15/hour. Thank you for stepping up!

We will discuss next school year's budget, based on your feedback and priorities. Keep an eye out for the meeting link from the school in your email.
Please remember to wear your masks and keep socially distant! Let's usher in Fall with one last frozen treat from the Kona Ice truck. The truck will be parked from 2-4 pm on Wood Heights Ave. between the school and the Rec Center.
It's time for the first PTO meeting of the school year! Come Zoom with us as we discuss the best ways we can support our school during these crazy and uncertain times. Everyone is welcome! We're always looking for new members to pitch in, whatever your abilities.

Each of them have given so much to us over the years and have worked tirelessly for our students. If you are able please help us reach our goal by donating to the GoFundMe page for these beloved members of our school community. All proceeds will be split equally between the three of them.
Ms. Arlene White, our always smiling, always funny, always helpful secretary, is in need of our help. She just received back surgery and will now begin chemo for Myeloma. Arlene is always there for us and now let’s be there for her, her daughter, and her grandchildren during this difficult time.
A meal train has been set up for Ms. White here: www.mealtrain.com/trains/d3dy73 If you or someone you know will be registering a student for Pre-K or Kindergarten for the upcoming school year, please fill out this survey to alert our administration of your intentions: forms.gle/bB3v4sYNRniyKTeg7 . Registration for Priority 1 families begins May 15th, and Priority 2 families will begin registration on July 1st.
