Thanks to a successful fundraising campaign - we are thrilled to kick-off this highly anticipated project in late June 2017, led by MICA alumni and Baltimore muralist Bridget Cimino. Bridget has designed a playful series of large, wonderfully colorful and academically minded OWLS scattered throughout the courtyard to greet our kids this Fall and throughout the year! The Owls - our school mascot - are featured hard at work and play - reading, playing sports, stirring up science experiments and peering into the stars! Families and children are welcome to join Bridget on Saturday, July 1st from 10AM -12PM at the school to make your mark on this creative community project! We are looking for kids and families to join Bridget on July 1st to help paint individual bricks to add a confetti - explosion of color on several walls! If you would like to join us on July 1st - please RSVP here! Children need to be accompanied by a supervising adult. In additional to this painting project, our funds will also purchase new wooden benches and plants for our existing garden beds! Thank you again to our gofundme supporters and our dedicated teachers - Ms. Casey, Ms. Becker, Ms. Melone, Ms. Kilcoyne and Ms. Chaivacci for spearheading and supporting our Medfield Heights Mural Project! Baltimore muralist, Bridget Cimino, is a conservationist and decorative painter having restored artworks in and around Baltimore and the Washington, DC metro area including the Basilica, The Engineers Club at the Garrett Jacobs Mansion and The Senator Theater. Her recent mural work includes projects throughout East Baltimore and collaborations with Holy Frijoles in Hampden and with teachers and students at Highlandtown Middle School. She is a graduate of Patapsco Highschool and Maryland Institute College of Art.
Thank you to our participating fundraising partners for supporting our school and bringing our community together in and around the neighborhood! Please remember to patronize these businesses throughout the summer to show our continued appreciation!
