Hello! I am a 2nd grade teacher at Medfield Heights Elementary School and I need your help! With no money in our budget to spend on aesthetic fixes, I decided to turn to fundraising to help spruce up our courtyard. Our students deserve to learn in a place that shows them they matter and this is where the idea for the Medfield Heights Mural Project came from.
Together with Medfield's PTO, we reached out to a wonderful MICA graduate to create a mural of different owls (our school mascot) around our courtyard. We plan on making wooden benches and raised beds to fill in areas that currently are unused space. Children will also have the opportunity to participate in the art-making process! Please help us make this dream a reality by funding our project through gofundme.com in any way you can. We need money to pay the artist and for materials. Thank you so much, I truly appreciate your support. Liza Casey The school year is drawing to a close and PTO elections are right around the corner at our final meeting of the year on Thursday, June 8th at 6:00. PTO officers elected will serve from July 2017 to June 2018.
You may nominate yourself or another interested individual to the offices of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary or Member-at-Large by emailing [email protected] by Friday, June 2nd. In addition to officers, we will also be voting on two proposed amendments to our PTO bylaws: AMEND Article IV, Section 3: ELIGIBILITY: Any PTO member in good standing who has attended two meetings within the school year, one of which must be between January and May of the voting year, may run for a PTO office. The June election meeting does not count towards these requirements. ADD Article V, Section 5: ELECTION VOTING ELIGIBILITY: Any PTO member in good standing who has attended one meeting within the school year, is eligible to vote in an election for PTO officers. The June election meeting does not count towards these requirements. See you on June 8th for the final PTO meeting of the year!
