Thanks to the absolutely wonderful work of the Volunteer Committee last year, we have a pool of funding to support programs at Medfield Heights Elementary! At the last meeting, we came up with a short list of ideas.
Help us prioritize these ideas or add your ideas to the poll!
MHES would like your help to make sure our students have a clean hands before they eat their lunch. We would like to ask for donations of baby wipes, antibacterial wipes, wet ones, or other clean hands wipes (not gels). Donations can be dropped off at the main office.
Just in! The class who donates the most wipes before October 9th will win an EXTRA RECESS PERIOD! Mark your donation with your child's name and classroom. Let's kill some germs!
We had a great turnout for our first Volunteer Committee Meeting of the year! We had 17 parents meet in the MHES Library to discuss priorities for spending, resource allocations, and upcoming events including Super Purple Friday, Book Fair, Spring Fling and (NEW) Art Fundraiser. Way to go Team Medfield! Check out what we talked about and ways you can get involved in the MHES Volunteer Committee Summary. Thank you to all who attended.
Despite the terrible stormy weather, the Fall Festival endeavor turned out beautifully. It was great to see MHES volunteers pull together to waterproof our area and the kids had a blast face painting and playing in the rain. Thanks to all for assisting in the set up and break down of our site--it was so quick and painless! Thanks as well to everyone who lent or donated supplies. We even managed to make a little but of money for the school! Councilwoman, Mary Pat Clarke, Baltimore City Council, District 14 even stopped to buy some MHES merchandise and support the school!
Can you believe we are already three weeks into another great year? Thanks to parents and families for sending us your snapshots of the first day of school at MHES Fall 2015!
Meet Principal Amber Kilcoyne and your 2015-2016 teachers! Learn what's upcoming in the new school year and how to get involved! Parents and families will meet for an hour in the Cafeteria for a word from the Principal and current members of the MHES Volunteer Committee. Following the presentation, parents attend 30 minute sessions in their teacher's classrooms from 7PM - 7:30PM and 7:30PM - 8PM. These back to back sessions in the classrooms allows parents of multiple children to visit two classrooms.
See you Wednesday (tomorrow) night!
Medfield Heights Elementary Volunteer Committee has agreed to assist in the festivities of the Medfield Heights Community Association, (MCS) Fall Festival, on Saturday, September 12, between 10:00AM and 2:00PM.
We will be offering a few free games and activities for the kids, and face painting for a small cost. This should be a pretty low key event, and volunteering would be a great way to meet other MHES parents while creating some fun for the neighborhood's little ones.
Sign up HERE to volunteer with other great MHES parents if you are available to help!
Contact volunteerMHES@gmail.com or Desiree Cleves if you have any questions.
DATE: 09/12/2015 ( Sat 9:00AM - 3:00PM EDT )
