Hello New and Returning Parents, Families and Friends! We hope you will consider joining PTO this year!
PTO meetings are held monthly in the library and are a great way to stay informed of school activities, share your ideas and talents and meet other parents and teachers! Kids are always welcome. Visit medfieldheightspto.com for more information on our programs and events. Bring your talents, tools and ideas and make a difference - join us this year! Click here for a list of meetings this Fall! What does PTO do? Last year, our amazing PTO with generous contributions from parents, grandparents and partners like YOU, raised $16,037.00 for our school through monthly fundraisers at local restaurants, Square One Art, concessions for sale at spirit nights like Math Night and Literacy Night, and two major events! Funds help MHES purchase classroom and arts supplies, bulk orders of copy and colored paper, and last year, we bought new snow removal supplies, indoor recess games, and contributed to the end-of-year parties for each grade. PTO also organizes a book fair and a community drive to support families during the holiday season, and through volunteer parent grant writing, we are thrilled to bring several Young Audiences assemblies to school each year. Previous assemblies include professional companies like Washington DC's premier physical theater Synthetic Theatre and the resident dance company Dance China NEW YORK. Last but not least - PTO produces two very popular and highly anticipated events each year bringing kids and the community together: the Snowflake Dance in December and Spring Fling! There is a way for everyone to pitch in to support PTO. And we can't do this without your help. How can I help? Even if I can't attend a meeting? Take the family to dinner for one or more restaurant fundraisers, read the PTO Weekly newsletter and sign up to volunteer for a spirit day or event shift too! Or, you can make a donation to the PTO directly through this link! Guess what? One of our fabulous PTO officiers and member at large Julia Farrell-Breit just shared with us that Johnny's restuarant in Roland Park (one of our very generous silent auction donors in last year's Spring Fling) is sponsoring a NOMINATE YOUR TEACHER campaign! They want to know why your teacher is the best! Every week, Johnny's will choose a story to highlight and a winning teacher will receive a dinner for two at Johnny’s! Nominate your amazing MHES teacher by following this link. Selected stories will be displayed at the restaurant - you can download the worksheet here! Let's share with Roland Park why Medfield Heights Elementary teachers are some of most amazing educators in Baltimore! Directions to Johnny's: 4800 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21210
