It has come to our attention that for the 2022-2023 school year, the Baltimore City Public School System has modified the current Bell Schedule for our students from a start time of 8:15 am to 9:00 am and dismissal time of 2:55 pm to 3:40 pm. Please know that as your MHES PTO, we took notice of the 45-minute difference, and we heard your feedback. The change in the Bell Schedule will severely impact before and aftercare services, the mental health of our children, drop-off/pick-up work schedules, affordability options for families, after school programming and also inadvertently create a 1-hr gap of drop-off time for our families that attend Medfield Height Elementary and our local secondary school - Roland Park Middle.
It is our mission to create a strong community that fosters an environment of collaboration with ALL stakeholders and this decision is unacceptable for our entire community, especially without the input of parents and guardians. We are asking that BCPSS work with schools and families to find a better solution. We, as the Medfield Heights PTO, Inc., representing the parents, guardians, and students would like to propose a Bell Schedule of 8:00 am or earlier be considered for Medfield Heights Elementary School. Please stand with us by doing the following:
MHES PTO Board Have lunch or dinner at these establishments this Sunday, May 29th and support our MHES PTO at the same time! Say “Medfield Heights” when you order and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to us.

Teacher Appreciation Week is fast approaching and we need some parent volunteers to help set up our Teacher Breakfast and Breakfast Lunch, on May 3rd and May 5th.
